Day 2 held up well with $29.5 million aggregate and another strong clearance. Day 3 reflected the traditional softening of the final book, though even there 160 lots found buyers.

The $850,000 Headline: Lot 238: Zoustar x Nudge (Fastnet Rock)

Two Bays Farm's Zoustar filly out of the Fastnet Rock mare Nudge was the undisputed headline of the sale. Knocked down for $850,000 to a consortium of Chris Waller Racing, Mulcaster Bloodstock, Group One Bloodstock and Ozzie Kheir, she was the logical result of a pedigree page that answered every question.

The stallion story is compelling on both sides of the pedigree.

Zoustar — Champion two-year-old and a sire rapidly establishing himself among the elite in the Southern Hemisphere. His stakes winner rate of 6.33% sits well above the industry average, and his progeny have a consistent pattern of early brilliance. This filly ranked #1 in our Stallion Match composite across all 806 catalogued lots.

Fastnet Rock through the dam — One of the most influential dam sires in Australian racing history. Fastnet Rock mares have produced stakes winners across an extraordinary range of sire lines. His daughters carry a dam sire SW rate of 6.03% with a winners-to-runners rate of 62.94%. When Zoustar meets a Fastnet Rock mare, the Stallion Match model records a nick stakes winner rate of 12.70% — exactly double the sire's individual rate — with 80.95% of all runners from the cross winning races.

She was awarded a 20/20 MATCH rating — our highest designation, indicating a 2.3× greater statistical likelihood of stakes success. Sold to one of the country's most astute training operations, she will be one of the most watched yearlings from this sale.

Sire Standings: Who Led the Market

Sire Spotlights

Toronado — Volume leader with 31 sold for $5,035,000. At an average of $162,419 and a top of $410,000, Toronado demonstrated depth of demand across the entire book — not just a handful of headline lots. With a sire SW rate of 4.18%, the market is pricing in upside from his crosses, particularly over Fastnet Rock and More Than Ready-line mares.

Extreme Choice — The standout on averages among high-volume sires. Eight lots, $2,530,000 aggregate, $316,250 average. His sire SW rate of 12.24% — among the highest of any represented sire — is driving sustained commercial confidence. The sale's fourth-highest price (Lot 484, $540,000 to Michael Freedman Racing) came from his book.

Zoustar — Six lots, but the sale-topping $850,000 and a $362,500 average make him the story of the sale. His nick with Fastnet Rock-line mares (12.70% SW rate) was validated emphatically at the top of the market. The Zoustar x Snitzel cross (Lot 350, $320,000) added further evidence — nick SW rate of 18.52%, nearly triple the sire's individual rate.

Too Darn Hot — Nine lots for $2,120,000 at a $235,556 average. The $750,000 for Lot 499 (x Baveno, Street Cry dam) was the standout. Too Darn Hot is commanding serious money in both hemispheres, and the cross with Street Cry-line mares is producing at an elevated rate.

Ghaiyyath — Sixteen lots for $2,845,000 with a $177,813 average, topped by the $520,000 for Lot 19 (x Redoute's Choice dam). Consistent depth of market for a sire whose progeny are beginning to validate the commercial enthusiasm.

Frankel — Only three lots, but $820,000 aggregate for a $273,333 average. With a sire SW rate of 17.07% — the highest of any sire in the catalogue — Frankel's rarity in the Australian market only compounds the premium buyers pay when his representatives appear.

Kermadec — Five lots, $980,000 aggregate, topped by Lot 419 (the Oasis Dream-dam filly at $625,000 to Ciaron Maher Racing). An average of $196,000 reflects a sire punching well above his volume weight.

I Am Invincible — Three lots, $955,000 aggregate, $318,333 average — topped by Lot 567 ($400,000). When Australia's most commercially dominant sire appears in limited numbers, the market responds accordingly.

Dam Sire Standings: The Mares Behind the Money

If sires are the headline, dam sires are the foundation. The influence of the dam sire on yearling price is one of the most underappreciated factors in the commercial market — and the Inglis Premier data makes it legible.

Dam Sire Spotlights

Fastnet Rock — The undisputed dam sire of the sale. Twenty lots, $3,432,000 aggregate, $171,600 average — and the sale's top price. The market's reverence for Fastnet Rock mares is not just sentimental: his daughters carry a dam sire SW rate of 6.03% and have proven their ability to enhance virtually any sire they're crossed with. The Zoustar x Fastnet Rock nick (12.70% SW rate) was the defining commercial story of the sale.

Street Cry — Only three lots but a $433,333 average and the $750,000 second-highest price of the sale (Lot 499, Too Darn Hot x Baveno). Street Cry as a dam sire carries a 7.01% SW rate — one of the highest in the catalogue. The market knows it.

Charge Forward — Six lots, $217,500 average, topped by Lot 484 at $540,000. Charge Forward mares are producing consistently elevated averages across multiple sire lines. His dam sire SW rate of 3.09% is building on a growing sample.

Epaulette — Four lots for $794,000 at a $198,500 average, topped by Bennett Racing's Ole Kirk purchase (Lot 329) at $430,000. A dam sire producing elevated averages relative to his volume, the Ole Kirk x Epaulette cross carries a 100% winners-to-runners rate in our model.

More Than Ready — Twelve lots for $2,050,000 at $170,833 average. More Than Ready mares consistently command a premium as a dam sire, and his SW rate as a broodmare sire continues to underpin commercial confidence. The Toronado x More Than Ready nick (Lot 125, $410,000) was one of Day 1's standout results.

Galileo — Only three lots at Inglis Premier, but $175,000 average and a $340,000 top. The rarity of Galileo-dam lots in this market, combined with his 8.65% dam sire SW rate, drives a significant premium. As more Galileo daughters enter Australian breeding, expect the commercial signal to strengthen further.

Hussonet — Three lots, $172,667 average, topped by Lot 470 (Hitotsu x Angel of Mercy, $480,000 to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock). A dam sire producing well above-average outcomes on a small sample.

Our Partners at the Sale

Several of our training and racing partners were active buyers across all three days. Here's how each group invested — and what their selections say about where smart buyers are finding value in the current market.

Ciaron Maher Racing

14 lots · $2,390,000 total · Top lot: Lot 419 @ $625,000Sires acquired: Kermadec, Too Darn Hot, Hitotsu, Xtravagant, Blue Point, Jacquinot, Pierata, Stay Inside

The most active partner buyer at the sale. The headline was Lot 419 — a Kermadec filly out of Turaath (Oasis Dream) at $625,000 — the third-highest price of the entire sale. Oasis Dream mares have proven themselves as global broodmares, and the Kermadec cross with that dam sire line showed strongly in our Stallion Match model. Lot 470 (Hitotsu x Hussonet-dam, $480,000) and Lot 65 (Too Darn Hot x Nom du Jeu-dam, $240,000) added European sire-line depth to a book covering both speed and class across 14 lots.

Archibald Racing

5 lots · $1,520,000 total · Top lot: Lot 567 — I Am Invincible x Constant Dreaming @ $400,000Sires acquired: I Am Invincible, Anamoe (×3), Toronado

The second-highest partner spend at the sale — and the highest average at $304,000 per lot. Archibald Racing showed a clear conviction in Anamoe, securing three colts at $360,000 (Lot 375), $320,000 (Lot 27) and $200,000 (Lot 84) respectively. Anamoe's $238,750 average across eight sold lots at the sale reflects genuine commercial depth, and Archibald Racing identified the sire's profile and bought with consistency. Lot 567 (I Am Invincible x Blackfriars-dam, $400,000) added proven sprint genetics through Australia's most commercially dominant sire.

Michael Freedman Racing

1 lot · $540,000 total · Top lot: Lot 484 — Extreme Choice x Ariaz (Charge Forward) @ $540,000Sires acquired: Extreme Choice

One lot — but a significant statement. Michael Freedman Racing went to $540,000 for Lot 484, the Extreme Choice colt out of Ariaz (Charge Forward) from Milburn Creek. Extreme Choice carries the highest sire SW rate of any represented sire at 12.24%, and the Charge Forward dam sire produced a $217,500 average across six sold lots at the sale. Three gold cells and three green cells in our Stallion Match model backed the purchase analytically.

Bennett Racing

2 lots · $500,000 total · Top lot: Lot 329 — Ole Kirk x She Shao Fly (Epaulette) @ $430,000Sires acquired: Ole Kirk, Dundeel

Two lots, one statement buy. Lot 329 — an Ole Kirk filly out of She Shao Fly (Epaulette) at $430,000 from Gilgai Farm — was the standout. The Ole Kirk x Epaulette-line cross carries a 100% winners-to-runners rate in our model, and Epaulette as a dam sire produced a $198,500 average across four sold lots at this sale. Bennett Racing also picked up a Dundeel filly (Lot 308, Fastnet Rock-dam) at $70,000 to add pedigree depth.

Malua Racing

7 lots · $925,000 total · Top lot: Lot 535 — Zousain x Burum (Artie Schiller) @ $210,000Sires acquired: Zousain, Justify, Harry Angel, State of Rest, Toronado, Frankel, Russian Camelot

The most diversified book of any partner buyer — seven lots across seven different sires. Malua's strategy reflects portfolio breadth rather than sire concentration. The Justify colt (Lot 25, Yarraman Park, $170,000) carried the highest Opportunity Score (90.5) of any partner purchase in our model — a Stallion Match 20/20 MATCH with genuine staying dosage (DI 0.79). The Zousain colt (Lot 535, Emirates Park, $210,000) adds a son of Zoustar to a book carrying European depth through Harry Angel, State of Rest, and Frankel.

Matt Laurie Racing

5 lots · $660,000 total · Top lot: Lot 327 — Brave Smash x Shalfah (Fastnet Rock) @ $220,000Sires acquired: Brave Smash, Home Affairs, Harry Angel, Brazen Beau, Pierata

Five lots across all three days. The headline was Lot 327 — a Brave Smash colt out of a Fastnet Rock mare at $220,000 from Emirates Park. Fastnet Rock as a dam sire produced a $171,600 average at this sale, and the Brave Smash x Fastnet Rock cross carries a 50% winners-to-runners rate in our model. Lot 452 (Home Affairs x Zoustar-dam, Two Bays Farm, $150,000) carries a 20/20 MATCH Stallion Match rating with three gold cells — purchased from the same vendor who produced the sale topper.

Closing Observations

Three numbers define the 2026 Inglis Premier: $850,000 for the right Zoustar filly. $750,000 for the right Too Darn Hot colt. And $433,333 — the average achieved by Street Cry-dam lots across three representatives. The market at the top end is not just functioning; it is rewarding sire and dam sire pedigree combinations with precision.

The dam sire leaderboard is the most instructive read of the sale. Fastnet Rock's 20 lots at $171,600 average — topped by $850,000 — confirm what the data has shown for years: his daughters are transformative across sire lines. Street Cry's three lots at $433,333 average tell the same story about quality over quantity.

Among the sires, Extreme Choice's $316,250 average on eight lots is the commercial signal of the sale. A 12.24% stakes winner rate driving a price point that will only grow as his crops mature. Frankel at $273,333 on three lots is a reminder that rarity and quality compound. And Zoustar at $362,500 average — with the sale-topper in his book — confirms his position at the elite end of the Southern Hemisphere sire ranks.

Our partners invested $6,535,000 across 34 lots, with Ciaron Maher leading the charge at $2,390,000 and Archibald Racing the most selective at $304,000 per lot average. The buying patterns reflected conviction in specific sire stories — Anamoe for Archibald, Extreme Choice for Freedman, Kermadec and Hitotsu for Ciaron Maher.

The 2026 Inglis Premier was a sale where pedigree intelligence mattered. The Stallion Match model identified the right lots — the market confirmed the analysis.
